Summary Again

The long blog essay of the week returns again.

MF Leaving For Korea

Yes... She will be flying off to Korea next week. I WILL be damn bored... Come to think of it, I have yet to visit Korea before. I'm more interested in Japan though.
  • Tokyo - Yes... definitely. Especially Akihabara. Heard they have started to try out separating the males and females at different cabins in the train.. Yes, prevent molesting! I am not sure if they had made that rule permanent and all over all trains yet but imagine a whole cabin of guys... yucks(though I myself is a male too). Imagine a whole cabin of ladies squeezing all over you... (nose bleed).

  • Okinawa and Osaka - These 2 states have very different culture from the other states of Japan. You will know straight away from the Japanese they speak. Very different...
Ok, I'm still in Singapore...

CD-Rs

I'm thinking of getting myself a DVD burner. Reason being... CD-R sucks... For those of you who do not know and think that a CD can provide you with a lifetime of storage, you are very wrong... ya... some CD-Rs do last a life time but it all depends on what type of dyes the disc uses. Ok, here goes, there are basically 3 types of dyes
  1. Cyanine dyes

  2. Azo dye

  3. Phthalocyanine
If you are always buying those cheap CD-Rs from simlim or anywhere else, you should be buying the Cyanine dyes CD-Rs. Lifetime storage... my foot! These Cyanine dyes CD-R loses its reflective surface in a few years and before you know it, your data will all be gone in ONLY a few years.. Buying expensive CD-Rs? Don't be too happy too. You may only be spending more money on the same Cyanine dyes CD-Rs, that's all. Ok.. I'm just too pissed off with my data being lost. Who the fuck invented the Cyanine dyes which wouldn't last?

Data is important for me as I burn an average of 1 CD a day... You can imagine the number of CDs I got in my room. It IS very frustrating to find your data unreadable when you want to re-access data that you wanted to re-access so much after a long time.

My Scehdule For The Week

Monday... gone! Tuesday... gone!
Wednesday - Will be meeting up with Melvin to discuss our project. Most importantly, he's getting his gf a present.
Thursday - Half day... convocation for MF. I will become a part time photographer from tomorrow lunch time onwards. Say cheese.
Friday - Might be going Queensway with Henry after work. He's getting his soccer boots, I'm looking for a showcasing cupboard to put in my room from IKEA.
Saturday - This time, I MUST appear at Sunshine Plaza... hope the plan wouldn't be screwed again.
Sunday - Soccer in the morning and all the barang barang

Ongoing
- Projects, projects, projects
- Buying guitar. Still considering on whether to get an acoustic or electric. Probably will try to get Adrian or Raymond to go get one with me. Remember the "Dead Horse"!
- "Renovate" my words site (the poems site). The site this time will be dynamic, "no iframe", using good headers (if I got the time) and using some other search engine optimization techniques. I'll be at the top of Googles soon.

Anime Talk

Twelve Kingdom and Azumanga Daioh still ongoing. Finished Xenosaga and in come Jinki-Extend. The ED of Jinki-Extend is one of the best. The story so far yet to develop much. Only watched 4 episodes. Xenosaga's a so-so but the ED is very good. Nearly made me cry in the last episode.

BTW, I like realistic anime. They are almost the same as any movies or tv series you see. Just that they are being drawn out. You will be amazed how expensive the production cost can reach for some animes. Ok, there are the sucky and low budget ones but there are also the bigger production ones. A lot of effort
and homework can be seen done on them. Gakutsusou has the clothings of their characters designed by Anna Sui.

Vain Talk

The hair's finally getting better now. Will wait for it to grow a little longer before I find a good hair stylist to do something about it. Whoever says hair is not important is fucking wrong. It plays a major part in how you look. If you are those who has originally above average face, you may not understand. But if you are those who only has an average face, you will have discovered by now how important your hair is and how it's going to affect how you look. I am getting very dark now... almost over-tanned or you can also say chao tah. The weekly frying under the sun has been overly done. Need to "unfry" a little.

For your information, I like how I look WHEN I GOT ENOUGH SLEEP. I look like 2 totally different person when I slept enough and when I did not sleep enough. My eyes get affected easily.

My Religion

I'm shivering for this whole week... shivering from excitement. It makes me smile a little or two and I know I'm not the only one. I couldn't sleep on Mon and Tues cause there were flashbacks and regrets. I will be back. This Sunday will come soon. If I'm going to choose a religion that can:
- bring me up when I'm down
- forget everything when my brain's overloaded
- courage and anger to even scream at a ghost
- confidence when I feel like a fool
- fuck it when a pretty woman stand naked in front of me (not too sure though)
then this is it. This is my religion. No, I ain't going no church or temple. Probably only Henry and Benny will know what I'm talking about.

I'm totally sick of staying at the same level forever... I need to move on...

Get It Together - By Osaka

I guess I just had to write something... Hadn't been writing for a few days but then again what I usually wrote are still sort of unconstructive and meaningless. I couldn't care less. No... not for today.

Love
Strange but I kinda love everybody today... I love my dad, love my mom, love my 2 sisters.. the pc's not frustrating me today, the weather's right.. morale high... love everything. This minute this second, hope nobody's having a heart break though it's never possible. The person living directly above my room whom I have never seen, the person below my floor now.. hope they are doing good.

Every morning, I am going to tell myself.. with a nod each time. "get it together... get it together... get it together... get it together... get it together..." x 100 + ((60*100)*8888) + 10000 + infinity times... as long as no (x 0) come in, I should be okay... get it together

Anime
Done with Gundam Seed... Excellent towards the end. Might want to start downloading Gundam Seed Destiny Soon.. At the mean time, watching Xenosaga, Twelve Kingdom and Azumanga Daioh. Here's a brief review for each...
Xenosaga - Half way through. Storyline's a so-so, animation nothing impressive, voice actor/actress also a so-so. Anyway, didn't expect much from it after reading its review at AnimeNfo. Half way through for now, hope the later half of the series will be entertaining.
Twelve Kingdom - Great! The seiyus are great! The storyline is very interesting and the character development is very strong. I love shows with good character development. They kinda make me feel like I was reading a literature book.
Azumanga Daioh - Super comedy.. No real plot but the entertainment value is very high. I never fail to laugh...

Narutaru Again

Some Random AnimeNFO Reviews On Narutaru:

- This anime is just davestating. It ruined my life for about a week after seeing it, i became kind of isolated and very frieghtened from any random thought that comes to my head. I started to think ill of some people, But everything is gradually getting back to normal by now.

- I have finished watching the 13 episodes yesterday and must say that I cannot get rid of the disturbed feeling it produced inside me. Most people here already described what to expect so I should mention that if you plan to watch it, you should know what to do.

- The plot, until the last three episodes, is quite often very dull and uneventful. Also, the anime very clearly lacks a true ending, and I can almost guarantee that a sequel will never be made. However, if you have a taste for truly disturbing anime, I heartily recommend this. You will NEVER forget what goes on in the last episode.

- This is one anime I couldn't watch coldly from the distance. Although I wanted to look away, I couldn't because I was too curious what hideous things would happen next. It reminded me of Now and Then, Here and There.

- When I first started watching it, it was really cool with a very interesting story, despite it's childish beginning. As the story progressed it began to try on my sanity until the point in which I had to stop watching at episode 10. Hopefully one day, I will have the mental strength to endure the final two episodes(which I've heard are quite distrubing).

The scenes still float in my mind every now and then. Be sure to catch it if you like disturbing show. Expect to get physcological attack. 13 episodes too long? Go for the last 3 episodes... horror movies in the cinema will mean nothing.

Top Of Yahoo

Yahoo
Thank you, Yahoo for making me number one in your search engine. The keyword is "shaowei" but I hope it would be long and they won't kick me out of there. Damn the googlebot... Seriously, there's nothing to brag about for being number 1 for such an uncommon and useless keyword. If you number one for some other popular keyword, then that's something. I know a little about SEO and it's not easy to program in such a way that the googlebot or slurp will spider every single piece of it. Gone were the tables, in with the layer and absolute position.

Gundam Seed
I don't really fancy mecha anime in the past but Gundam Seed really changes all that. Gundam Seed was really great. Now I know why Gundam Seed is so hot and popular. Vivian Hsu as one of the vocalist.. ya.. though she's acting as an extra.

Clearig My Room

I am fucking clearing my room now... hadn't clear it for a few years and it seems like I'm living in a stupid mountain of junks... I am throwing everything which I don't want away... definitely no mercy this time!

Things I encountered:
- 3 little bears... decided to give 2 to my sister... keepin one for myself... count them lucky someone wants to keep them or else they will end up in the bin.

- my old PC. Managed to squeeze out some cable which may be useful, a SDram (anbody interested, pls contact me, I don't mind giving out for free). The casing... I'm thinking of.. to hell with it, just straight to the bin. Remember, no mercy!

- Few boxes of lecture notes. Those are definitely out. I wouldn't need them anymore. Nowadays everything can be found on the net and in soft copy.

- Some army thingy.. the l-torch, kiwi..etc etc. I'm keeping those... I have learn my lesson during the last revervist when I have to go buy all of them last minute. A few thick infantry handbook. Now those are interesting when you are not a soldier anymore.

- While I was clearing all my notes, found a name card with someone's writing. It says "Throw Shaowei Away". F. CB. My stupid playful friends... too many that I have no clue who's the most likely cuprit.

- Found sketches which I drew in the past... think I could draw pretty well then. In the past and ya.. 3 years of lectures, what do you expect.

Well, after half a day... managed to throw out everything that I don't want. Now it's the interesting part, to arrange the things I want to keep...

A Quick Note

Chit Chat
Had a long long chat with Jinsheng, Henry and Benny a few days back. Main theme... relationship matters. It's so interesting and so debatable... 6 years down the road, what can I say about love? Henry's with his girlfriend for 7 years. We both come to a conclusion that there's no love at first sight.. crush probably, but not love at first sight. Romance may not be there anymore after such a long time, but in the end, time really gives you something much more important, something more important than romance... But then again, that's just our interpretation.. But each and everybody is unique, sees diferent things so... we may be wrong.

My Schedule
This Friday BBQing over at Weiqun's hall... Next Monday, Amara hotel buffet.

Looking At Girls
Ok... I must admit I love to look at beautiful girls... Everybody does... sometimes a piece of art. They put plastic on their face, cloth to cover up their flaws... watever.. as long as they look good, they are worth watching... Kinda felt that looking at them it's a form of respect if they put in effort in makin themselves look better...

Genshiken

Just started to watch the series "Genshiken". Translated: The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture. 4 episodes in and I felt that the show is great... It's mainly about the life around a typical otaku in Japan now. Episode 4 was the best so far... That episode is about cosplaying and also introduces a new character, Makoto Kohsaka, who likes to dress herself up with... Jam of Guilty Gear. The voice talents are great too.. starring Satsuki Yukino!! She's the one who's best known to be behind the voices of Kaname Chidori in Full Metal Panic! The OP is fine but the ED's great. Director, Takashi Ikehata, and I like the realistic background feel he's giving this whole series...

Soccer: 1 Goal In Nus

Today only score one goal...

1st Goal: Jinsheng's shot hit the post. And a double quick reaction header from the rebound straight into goal...

Today's team is almost invincible...
Me, Henry, Benny, Jinsheng, Linyou, Kelin...

There's no way we can lose if the opponents are your everyday average good team. It takes something special or someone above good to beat us. It's a great feeling.

11 Goals!!

Classic Dirty Jokes

Some dirty jokes to brighten up the day

Have You Been Drinking?

A man is out, driving happily along in his car late one Saturday evening. Before too long, the cops pull him over.
The policeman walks up to the man and asks, "Have you been drinking, sir?"
"Why? Was I weaving all over the road?"
"No," replied, the policeman, "you were driving splendidly. It was the ugly fat chick in the passenger seat that gave you away."

Man my life sucks

A cucumber, pickle and a penis were all sitting around one day talking about how much their lives sucked.

The cucumber said, "Man my life sucks. Whenever I get big, fat and juicy, someone cuts me up and puts me in a salad."

So the pickle looks at him and says, "You think you have it bad? Whenever I get big, fat and juicy, someone puts me in vinegar, puts spices on me, and sticks me in a jar."

The penis glared at both of them and said, " You guys think you have it rough? Whenever I get big, fat and juicy, someone puts a rubber tarp over my head, sticks me in a dark room, and bangs my head against the wall until I throw up and pass out.

My Week

Here's a weekly entry which is supposed to be a bit longer than usual.

Sunday
Staying at home relaxing for my Sunday cause I will be staying out late tomorrow night. Crap... guess what.. end up eating and eating and eating and goes on and on... And having played soccer yesterday encourages me to eat even more.

Saturday
Went to eat Moonfish Restuarant... then catches a bit of the fireworks at Millennium Walk. Food there pretty average, at least I felt so.. Then when I was taking the MRT home, I got surrounded by a group of guys and girls. I was basically standing right in the center of them and they were talking nonstop with me in the center. I looked like an idiot. Don't ask me how I ended up in the center of them. I will just tell you I don't know and that's no way for me to get out of the "ring". Fuck! If my pay become stable enough, the first thing I will do is to get myself a car. And talking about cars, Meifang's car is going to come exactly on my birthday.

Monday
This is tomorrow.....!!! I don't know what's going to happen but all I know is I am going to go support Junyang tomorrow. I'm fucking angry with some comments of Meifang's friends. I wasn't there to hear it personally but I'm fucking pissed with the comment. That is why I never wanted to go out with them. Never once... Yes, you may say we should get to know more people and when you're in need, you may be able to get some help from them. Fuck them! I judge my own life. I think they are going to cause me more anger than any help. To be fair, not all of her friends are like that.. just some, but those are enough to make the whole basket look rotten. I hate to get into details... I'm not good at writing proper english when I really don't have the mood.

Chocolate Factory
Hmmm... not bad not bad.. Entertainment values were there.

Dreams
I have a stream of strange dreams this morning. Each dream consists of a thing I need to do and for that thing, if I don't do them, that's a possibility that I will regret. All the dreams kinda makes me feel that it's a reminder given to me by someone or something. In the end, I only did one of the things out of all the dreams. Hey hey... if there are really ghosts around, wouldn't they want to reach the end of where the space is? I want to be borned 2000 years later. I want to see what the world will become by then. How advanced will the androids be by then compared to now? Some fucking scientist figured out what is ghost? Internet revolution replaced by...? Earth has gone even more sick and there are even more disasters? The deadiest diseases wipe out human race? An american dancing with an iraqi? Singapore has gone underneath the sea? The desert which was growing every second has covered the whole earth? hahaha... singapore won the world cup? that is the least possible.

Collective Soul - Seven Years Itch

Was on my way out this morning, couldn't make up my mind which CD to bring... Just grab along the greatest hit by Collective Soul, album name, Seven Years Itch. Ya... a band from the early nineties... More than 10 years ago but all just still seems so recent to me... Hadn't listen to it for a long time but their tunes are really catchy. Memories flashback again... The album contains "Run", "December" and "The World I Know". Of course, there's more.
